Campaign volunteers in Ohio are also in the final stretch before the election – trying to get just one more vote, one more person, on the team of their candidate. CCTV America’s Jim Spellman reports the story.

Volunteers are sent out with specific information on which households to target. Information gathered from a sophisticated data mining operation.

Early voting has been underway for about three-and-a-half weeks in Ohio. The Trump campaign admits it doesn’t have the same level of ground game here in the Columbus area, but volunteers are out making their last-minute pitch.

The Clinton camp is depending on turning out a diverse coalition of voters.

Targeting specific groups like Somali-Americans.

“They’re all voting. We’re out knocking on doors and they are all voting for Hillary,” said Hanna Sarman, one Somali American Clinton Volunteer.

And dispatching high-profile Latino surrogates like Obama cabinet member Julian Castro.

“In the Latino community there’s a sense that Donald Trump is the worst candidate the party has nominated and so you can see that in these battleground states especially they’re making a big effort to come out,” said Julian Castro from Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

While Trump supporters hope enthusiasm for their candidate will drive voters to the polls.

“I strongly believe in what the Republicans stand for and I can’t tell you how many people have come up and said thank you for being here,” said Angel Rhodes, one Trump Volunteer.

And counting on strong dislike of their opponent.

“I don’t want Hillary Clinton to win. I know too much about her,” said Ann Trager, one Trump Volunteer.

The race in Ohio is essentially deadlocked with Donald Trump showing a slight lead in most polls. Volunteers here know that every vote could make the difference for their candidate.
