Brazil’s economic crisis hasn’t stopped a Rio de Janeiro doctor from collecting memorabilia of his beloved football club Flamengo, reported as having the biggest fan base in the world. It is a passion, not an investment, but it could be worth big money.

He personally cleans his precious collection… now totaling more than fifteen thousand official items of the famed Brazilian football club Flamengo.

Guilherme Nogueira, a 36 year old anesthesiologist began the clubs memorabilia at age six. He now owns one of the largest private collections of what fans call the “red and black” nation.

Guilherme’s passion is such that he had to rent this three bedroom apartment just to keep all sorts of memorabilia of the 120 year old club.

Flamengo antiques, glasses, mugs, especial editions of beer cans and bottles and even tomato sauce, everything that has the club’s shield is here.

Guilherme is only worried about space but for the time being he is already decorating his red and black Flamengo Christmas tree to celebrate one more year of true passion.
