Hama is the province that lies south-west of Aleppo. This week, government troops retook more territory from rebel forces. CCTV’s Xu Dezhi reports from the Hama frontline.

Lots of bullet shells are still on the ground. With only two kilometers (1.2 miles) between them and the rebel side, they are in the firing range of rebel ammunition. The possibility of being attacked is high.

Airstrikes and bombardments, in northern Hama. The Syrian army uses long-distance weapons to ensure its advancement, driving rebels away, and then dispatching troops to fight the remaining fighters.

However, because rebels outnumbered the Syrian army, not only did they occupy one single village, but the whole landscape in front of them. This month, internal clashes between different groups and the strengthening airstrikes from the Syrian Army have weakened rebels’ control. The Syrian army has made much progress and taken several positions.
