The Heat: South Sudan's long road to peace

Just a little more than a year after a peace deal was signed between President Salva Kiir’s government and an opposition group led by former Vice President Riek Machar, South Sudan faces rising tensions.

Machar fled the country this summer, and he’s again calling for war.

The head of one international monitoring group said the country is worse off today than it was before.
