Colombians vote “Yes” or “No” to peace accord

Americas Now

Colombians are taking part in an historic vote. Not to choose a leader, but instead to ratify the peace agreement between the government and the FARC.

They are not taking the decision lightly and the answer to the question of whether the peace plan should be enforced is not as obvious as it seems.

Correspondent Michelle Begue gets reaction from residents voting “Yes” to the accord. And also voting “No.”

Colombia has 34 million registered voters. In order for the peace agreement to be ratified, 13 percent of those voters must vote “Yes.”
