The European Union is in an ‘existential crisis’- The words came from the man who wants to lead the EU out of it-European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker, whose blunt assessment was aimed at setting out a long term plan for the bloc to survive. CCTV America’s Owen Fairclough reports.

Three months on, Brexit is still a word that continues to haunt Europe:

“Allow me to state here today that we respect and at the same time regret the U.K.’s decision. But the European Union as such is not at risk,” Juncker said in his first major address to European Parliament lawmakers, for whom more Europe – not less – is the ultimate aim.

It’s not just Brexit that’s threatening unity.

The migrant crisis and repeated terror attacks in leading countries like France and Germany are fueling far-right parties who also want an exit out of the EU.
