Women's Voices NowWomen’s Voices Now uses film to bring awareness to the struggles of women around the globe.

Whether it’s struggles for civil, political, economic or gender rights, women around the world must often fight to have their voices heard. But one group is trying to advocate for women’s rights by using film.

Women’s Voices Now uses a yearly online short-film festival to encourage an international dialogue on women’s rights. Heidi Basch-Harod is the organization’s executive director.

“That experience of seeing yourself reflected on the screen, that’s the moment where you say, ‘Oh I could be that person, I have a voice, I have rights, I have ideas, I have a vision,’” Basch-Harod explained.
