At least 15 people have been killed and another 45 injured after a man went on a rampage with a knife at the Tsukui Yamayuri-en facility for disabled in the city of Sagamihara in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Police said they responded to a call about 2:30 a.m. local time from an employee saying something horrible is happening.

At approximately 3:00 a.m., the alleged assailant turned himself into Tsukui police headquarters exclaiming “I did it,” as he approached the station. He has been taken into custody and is being questioned.

According to employees at the facility, the suspect was a former employee. Police have stated the motive for the attack is still under investigation.
