They gather every four years to choose their party’s candidate for President of the United States – but this year has been the regular political season.

Brash billionaire Donald Trump has taken the Republican Party by storm — leaving his opponents in the dust under a barrage of insults and controversial policy proposals.

So on the first day of their convention in Cleveland, Ohio – under the theme “Make America Safe Again” – it might come as no surprise that the day would be anything but routine.
