Republican national convention to kick off on Monday

It’s all coming together in Cleveland for the 2016 Republican Convention, the official party gathering to nominate their candidate for president of the United States.

A roll call of the delegates then official announcement that Donald Trump will be the nominee, that’s when each state publicly announces how many delegates Donald Trump and other candidates received. Donald Trump has already won a majority of the 2,472 delegates.

This year, an active contingent tried to stop nomination of Trump right up until this weekend, and wanted to insert a conscience clause which would have allowed delegates to vote their conscience. The Never Trump movement has failed.
