Reservoir dyke bursts in Jiangxi Province after heavy rain

In southern China authorities have said torrential rainfall has left 35 people dead, 24 missing.

Rainstorms have affected 10 provinces. Floods and landslides have disrupted the lives of over three million people. CCTV’s Jin Yinqiao reports.

A 60 meter (196 foot) wide breach opened up in a dyke in Poyang county in East China’s Jiangxi Province. The dyke burst on Monday evening, as heavy rains pounded the area.

About 15,000 people were evacuated from the area.
