NATO forces conduct major war games in Eastern Europe. What’s the motivation for the massive military exercise and what is Russia’s response?

Earlier this month, NATO launched large scale war games in Poland, near the Russian border. The operation, called Anaconda, involved thousands of troops and military hardware from NATO member states. It’s the largest such exercise since the end of the Cold War.
