The Heat: Terror in Orlando

The Heat

A hail of gunfire as swat teams storm a Florida nightclub. A lone gunman inside on a shooting spree.

When it was over, 49 victims lay dead and another 53 wounded. The question is why?

It’s the deadliest mass shooting in United States history. Against the backdrop of music and dancing inside a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida eyewitnesses offered a chilling tale. A gunman, later identified as 29 year old Omar Mateen, armed with an assault rifle, began randomly shooting.

During a three hour standoff with police he called 911, calmly pledging his allegiance to Islamic State. In the end, fearing Mateen, was also armed with explosives, police stormed the building, freeing hostages and killing the suspect.
