Three dead in Tel Aviv shooting

World Today

Three people were killed in central Tel Aviv on Wednesday night after two suspected Palestinian fired on them, Israel police said.

Another five people were wounded in the shooting, which took place near the popular open-air Sharona market.

Police later said both suspects were “neutralized,” and that one was arrested, while the other was wounded from gunfire.

Israel has been struggling to cope with eight months of Palestinian attacks, mostly stabbings, shootings and vehicular assaults, that have killed 31 Israelis and two Americans.

About 200 Palestinians have been killed during that time, most identified as attackers by Israel.
