Since Barack Obama became President of the United States, his government has taken a hard line against whistleblowers and those who leak sensitive national defense information.

Some have even accused the Obama administration of waging a war on whistleblowers.

Meanwhile, America’s most famous whistleblower, Edward Snowden, continues to evade efforts by the U.S. to prosecute him. Now living in Russia, he has always maintained he did the right thing when he leaked top-secret information about U.S. intelligence gathering to the Guardian newspaper three years ago.
