The China-U.S. Strategic and Economic Dialogue, or SED, and the High-Level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange, also known as CPE, will be held in Beijing next Monday and Tuesday.

CCTV’s Su Yuting has this preview.

Chinese officials said there will be a number of key issues to be discussed this year, including global excess industrial capacity, investment liberalization, and macroeconomic rebalancing.

China and the U.S. have deepened its relationship in all areas: economic, scientific, cultural, and personal.

Experts said it is time for Washington and Beijing to make progress a series of issues including the South China Sea, the bilateral investment treaty, new cyber security protocols, climate change cooperation, support for people-to-people exchanges,
and joint efforts in global economic development.

The SED and CPE are expected to provide timely opportunities to make that happen.
