The United States is moving forward with plans for possible military intervention in Libya. Top U.S. officials confirmed that military and intelligence assets have been reassigned. CCTV America's Daniel Ryntjes reports.

U.S. officials have confirmed that more U.S. drone surveillance aircraft are now flying over the skies of Libya, developing intelligence designed to assist a future U.S. military intervention.

The U.S. has also conducted two major strikes in Libya, the killing of an ISIL leader last year and attacking an ISIL training camp in February.

But the U.S. Defense Secretary said a more comprehensive plan depends on the success of Libya’s U.N. backed unity government.

At recent EU and NATO meetings, the U.S. has reportedly committed to sending warships to support a stronger naval presence off the coast of Libya, to halt the flow of overcrowded migrant vessels to Europe.

U.S. officials have confirmed that American Special Forces have been present covertly in Libya since late last year where they’ve been improving intelligence and support through select local forces.
