Earthquake recovery efforts in Ecuador are making progress, but the country still needs help.

Peru has sent one of its largest naval ships, loaded with nearly 300,000 kilograms of aid.

Peru’s president personally supervised the shipment. Meanwhile, Ecuador’s government has raised the death toll from last week’s quake to 655, with 48 people still missing.

CCTV America’s Nathan King spoke to Francisco Borja, Ecuador’s ambassador to the United States about whether the response from the international community has been sufficient.
