US Chamber of Commerce seeks improved communication with China

The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in China released its annual White Paper, which focuses on how US companies do business in China. It’s a key guide book to get an inside look at how United States companies operate in China.

CCTV’s Xing Zheming explains the report.

The White Paper was released at the 2016 APCAC business conference. The heads of 29 AmCham chapters across the Asia-Pacific region gathered to discuss how businesses could further grow in this region. One goal is to improve the dialogue with the governments in both Washington, DC and Beijing.

The White Paper highlights three points that matter most to American firms in China: hope for a more transparent playing field, an open and dynamic investment environment, and getting involved with Chinese initiatives to boost innovation.

To achieve this, the AmCham believes the Bilateral Investment Treaty is crucial for businesses in both countries. According to their own survey, 68 percent of American companies operating in China believe the treaty is critically important, especially during a sluggish global economy.
