The Heat: Nigerian President in China

The Heat

China and Nigeria have long been friends since the establishment of their diplomatic ties in the 1970s. But now, that relationship is more profitable for both sides.

China and Nigeria’s bilateral trade rose to more than $13 billion last year, from around $2 billion a decade ago. Nigeria’s president visited China to discuss how to expand the relationship further.

Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on a week long trip to China. Key areas of discussion included economic ties, security concerns and areas for more cooperation.

CCTV’s Han Peng reports.
