While polls suggest a majority of Americans approve of U.S. President Barack Obama’s decision to restore diplomatic relations with Cuba, he has faced criticism at home from many of the Republican presidential candidates. But what do Cubans think?

CCTV’s Michael Voss reports from Havana.

Last year, a U.S. research firm carried out a secret nationwide opinion poll in Cuba, commissioned by the Washington Post and two Hispanic television networks.

The results of this survey showed that 80 percent of the Cubans polled had a positive opinion of U.S. President Barack Obama. That was a much higher approval rating than for either President Raul Castro or his brother and former leader Fidel.
