Lula is being investigated in the Petrobras Corruption probe that’s already sent many business people and politicians to jail.

But cabinet ministers can only be investigated and tried at the Supreme Court. The action against Lula will be sent to the Supreme Court judges, where things are usually slower.

Before Lula starts working he’ll have to convince people that he isn’t taking the position only to get protection.
