French judge considers eviction delay at Calais Jungle camp

World Today

Refugees from all over the world have sought sanctuary in the so-called ‘Jungle’ camp in Calais, France. They’re waiting to hear if a judge will approve a government plan to demolish part of the camp. That decision is expected Thursday.

CCTV’s Elena Casas reports.

Charity groups say the future of more than 34,000 people hangs in the balance, as a court decides whether to demolish this refugee camp. Hundreds of unaccompanied children are among them.

Most traveled from Afghanistan, Iraq or Syria, some are as young as ten.
