In the year 2016, cancer will kill more than 8 million people worldwide, with half of them between the ages of 30 and 69.

The total worldwide cost of cancer-related losses and expenses are expected to hit 47 trillion dollars. That’s equivalent to three quarters of global GDP this year.

CCTV America’s Rachelle Akuffo spoke to Anupam B. Jena, the associate professor of health care policy and medicine at Harvard Medical School.
