For the first time in 16 years, Venezuela’s opposition defeats the Socialist ruling party in the legislative elections.

The Democratic Unity Roundtable now holds a majority in the country’s National Assembly giving it a strong platform to challenge and potentially unseat Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
