A dinosaur fossil from the Jurassic period, about 180 million years ago, was discovered during road work in October in Lufeng county, southwest China’s Yunnan Province.
The five-meter-long fossil has been identified as Lufengosaurus Magnus. It has three sacral vertebras, 13 dorsal vertebras, 22 coccygeal vertebras, and complete hind legs, said Wang Tao, director of the department for geological heritage protection at the Lufeng land resources bureau.
