Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is largely bucking the trend of world leaders. By the end of the year, his government will identify 10,000 Syrian refugees, eligible to resettle in Canada.

Canada will restrict some settlements by single men, if they aren’t accompanied by families. Ottawa’s plan comes amid growing worries on both sides of the Atlantic that terrorists may be using the ongoing refugee crisis to slip into Western countries.

That fear has prompted some tough anti-refugee rhetoric from some prominent people. CCTV America’s Roee Ruttenberg reports for Insight on the growing backlash against refugees as government officials on both sides of the Atlantic, in the United States and Denmark, spout increasingly anti-refugee rhetoric.
