Into the Badlands producer, star Daniel Wu breaks barriers for Asian actors

Chinese-American executive producer and actor of Daniel Wu sees his new cable television show as a groundbreaking portrayal of Asian-Americans.

Into the Badlands” premiered on AMC, a U.S. cable channel on Nov. 15 to over 8 million viewers, making it the third biggest cable series launch of all time.

CCTV’s Zhu Dan interviewed Wu about his new martial arts western and asked him about diversity in entertainment, how he landed his role, and the challenges to filming a martial arts show. Here’s what he said:
