The Heat: Chinese Ambassador on President Xi’s US state visit

Chinese President Xi Jinping begins his first state visit as Chinese President to the United States next week.

Xi Jinping will first land in Seattle where he is expected to meet with U.S. business leaders. After that, it’s on to Washington to meet with U.S. President Barack Obama at the White House. From there, Xi is scheduled to address the U.N. General Assembly in New York City.

For a preview of the highly anticipated visit, The Heat spoke to China’s Ambassador to the United States Cui Tiankai at the Chinese embassy in Washington.

 

Former U.S. Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger, played a major role in opening relations between China and the United States in the 1970’s. The former U.S. diplomat has traveled to China more than 50 times. Kissinger joined CCTV in New York and shared his thoughts about President Xi’s U.S. visit.
