China has agreed to supply Venezuela with 20,000 taxis, made by the Chinese manufacturer Chery. The first 400 have just arrived in the country.

As CCTV’s Stephen Gibbs reported from Caracas, most, but not all, would be sold at subsidized prices.

  • The Venezuelan government says this is the first of many thousands of taxis which would be coming from China. There is a plan to build the cars in Venezuela.
