Who would you rather work for? A man or a woman? In the United States, it’s more likely than ever that you will be working for a woman.

In this edition of Women at Work, we’re taking a look at women-owned businesses.

More details:

  • Since 1997, the number of women-owned firms has increased 74 percent, a rate one and half times the national average.
  • Now there are nearly 9 and half million women-owned businesses in the United States, which accounts for 30 percent of all enterprises. Women owned firms are growing faster in number and employment than most others.
