A wild giant panda took tourists by surprise on Sunday as it walked around a scenic spot in Baoji, in northwest China’s Shaanxi Province.

According to local authorities, the panda was found walking in the area for over six hours.

Tourists witnessed the panda walking back and forth across a creek. They were concerned whether the panda lost its way or fell ill, though the panda seemed to enjoy itself.

Staff of a local animal protection station confirmed that the panda is in good health after close observation.

The wild giant panda was sighted in the interior of the southern foot of Qinling Mountains , a natural habitat for pandas.

It’s rare for wild pandas, who like being alone, to show up in public. However, since 2010, people have seen wild pandas several times in this place.
