Iraqi peshmerga to join Syrian Kurds in Kobane

Syrian Kurds battling Islamic militants for the border town of Kobane welcomed the first U.S. airdrop of weapons. Neighboring Turkey has also shifted its policy and is now allowing Kurdish fighters to cross the border into Syria. CCTV America’s Natalie Carney has more.

Intense ground battles between Kurdish and Islamic fighters played out into the night in the north of Kobane along the border with Turkey.

Meanwhile, Turkey has agreed to allow Kurdish fighters from Iraq, known as peshmerga militia, to cross its border into Syria, in a move that has appeased the international community and the Kurds, who had been angry at Ankara’s perceived inaction.
