IS reveals it has connections in Egypt

The Islamic State made it clear this week that Africa is on its radar. It’s called for more terror attacks in Egypt and a self-styled splinter group has beheaded a French hostage in Algeria. Egyptian authorities conceded IS has been advising at least one splinter group in Sinai. CCTV America’s Yasser Hakim reports.

In its latest online announcement, IS revealed it has connections in Egypt. Ansar Bayt al-Maqdes, a militant group operating in northern Sinai, claimed it has received advice from the Islamic State on new tactics to attack security forces in Egypt.

Egypt is only offering technical and logistical assistance to the U.S.-led coalition against the Islamic State.
