Two decades of cheap overseas labor and tax subsidies cost America 800-thousand jobs. But that’s about to change.

Especially with one U.S. clothing company turning a profit on selling products solely made in America. Yakenda Mcgahee reports.

In fashion brands are built on names. But one particular brand built its name on a place: America. Leading the “Made In America” movement, American Apparel was created as an ethical, eco-friendly, sweatshop-free, clothing company produced on American soil.

Meanwhile, a day after revised data showed the U.S. economy growing better than expected in the second quarter, there are more signs that it’s keeping its momentum.

U.S. consumer spending fell one-tenths-of a percent in July. More Americans are playing it safe even with growth in both the economy and labor market.
