Chinese Premier Li Keqiang says China-Africa relations have entered a “golden period.” He made the remark as he wrapped up his four-nation tour of Africa. The weeklong trip marked his first visit to the continent since taking office last year. On Sunday, Li stopped by CCTV office in Nairobi, Kenya, to talk about the importance of strong China-Africa relations.

Li’s weeklong visit started in Ethiopia.There he met with officials to discuss future infrastructure investments. His delegation signed 16 deals to develop the country’s industrial zones. He also visited Nigeria and Angola where he signed energy, finance and manufacturing agreements.

He also told officials from both countries that China wants to work with them to build their railway systems.In Kenya,the focus was energy, trade and conservation. The Premier signed a $10 million pledge for a wildlife conservation project before heading home.
